We pride ourselves on being a helpful, independent bookshop, that allows you to be independent in your choice of books. On our shelves you will find more interesting titles than in the high street chains. We always have the best sellers and can point you in the direction of our favourites, but we also have over 75,000 different titles allowing you the opportunity to choose from the broadest range possible.

For example, we have excellent and constantly updated ranges of books on local history and ceramics, subjects we know are of great interest to our local customers. We also have hundreds of books on football, including a range of books on our local clubs.

Should your tastes be particularly eclectic, we can order books especially for you, with many titles arriving within a couple of days. In addition, we offer selected titles at reduced prices.

We have some local history titles available to buy on our site with Paypal, and offer an over the phone book ordering service. Just give us a call and we can tell you over the phone whether we have a particular book in stock and reserve it for you for collection from the store if you want. If we don’t have a particular book in stock, we can order it for you and let you know when it arrives in store for you to collect. We can also post books to you if you cannot make it to the store, taking payment over the phone.
